Regulations
|
- Permits are required for ALL visitors.
- Maximum Group size is 12 (combined people and stock) wilderness-wild, except for the Enchantment Permit Area where it is 8.
- Shortcutting trail switchbacks is prohibited.
- Caching or leaving equipment for more than 48 hours is prohibited.
- Protect water quality by keeping all contaminants away.
- Leash dogs on all trails off of I-90 and Highway 2 west of Steven's Pass.
Exceptions: Stock users traveling the Pacific Crest Trail north from Snoqualmie Pass and visitors on the Tunnel Creek Trail may travel with dogs under reliable voice control.
- Dogs are prohibited in the Enchantments Permit Area and Ingalls Lake.
- Damagin natural features, including trees, snags, or rocks is prohibited.
- Pack it in, pack it out.
- People who wish to guide a trip to the Wilderness should check with a ranger stating regarding a special use permit.

Camping Restrictions

Campfires are prohibited above 4,000 feet on the west side of the Cascade crest and above 5,000 feet east of the crest.
Campfires are prohibited within 1/2 mile of the following additional locations below these elevations:

Stock Restrictions

Contain sock at least 200 feet from lakes.
If hobbled, stock can be tied to trees larger then 6 inches in diameter for up to 4 hours.
When using highlines, hobble stock standing within 8 feet of trees.
Use only processed stock feed.
