The
trail climbs steeply and in endless switchbacks for 2.5 miles. For
next 0.5 mile the trail follows the ridge, climbing gradually and
offers impressive views of Glacier Peak .
Going through apline meadows the trail reaches Virgin Lake and then
steeply descends for 0.5 mile to Blanca Lake.
The lake and its surroundings are astonishing. The lake water is a
beautiful green color. Columbia Glacier comes close to the north side
of the lake. |
