About 200 feet from the parking lot the trail reaches the junction with Polallie Ridge Trail 1309 and Waptus River Trail 1310 going straight. Cooper River Trail turns left and soon passes a nice waterfall and a pool . The trail starts ascending as it gradually leaves the river and enters the woods. In about 2 miles of easy ascend it reaches a creek which is a great water source in hot weather. From here the trail gradually descends to the river and evens up as it leads for 1.3 mile to the junction with FS Road 4616 near the bridge over Cooper River, where it ends.

Turning right (west) and following the road 4616 for about 0.5 mile will bring you to Pete Lake 1323 trailhead on the north-west side of the Cooper Lake.
