July 1, 2003

For about 2 miles with gradual elevation gain the trail goes through the woods and meadows leading to the south side of Hyas Lake . Toilet is available here. The trail continues along the lake passing numerous campsites and sandy beaches, providing great view of Mount Daniel (7899 ft) and Cathedral Rock (6724 ft). In about 1 mile the trail brings you to the upper lake. From the upper lake it gradually climbs for about 0.5 mile and than changes to steep zigzags leading for 1.2 mile to the junction with Robin Lakes Trail 1376.1 that turns right. The trail evens up and in 0.3 mile passes a short spur that turns left leading to a campsite near a nice pond. The trail continues on for 0.1 mile to the junction with PCT and Clarice Lake Trail 1066 (that leads to Marmot Lake and Clarice Lake) at the pass.
