Trail:
Gradually climbing up the mountain a well-maintained trail zigzags through the woods, grown after 1910 fire. In 1.7 mile the trail reaches first junction where right fork descends to the creek and left fork continues further up. This is your last chance to get water. Right after the junction the trail leads you to the wooden deck built around 350 years-old cedar tree. From here the trail gets a little steeper. After 4th mile it evens up. There are several nice picnic spots on the right side of the trail. After passing big rock the trail reaches another junction: left fork leads to the south slope of the mountain, presenting you with an impressive view of Mt. Rainier; main fork continues up to the ridge. Going up to the summit climbing experience and gear are needed. There is a trail leading to Mt. Tenerife to the right off the main trail. The weather was not good for us at all, so if you happen to have a good picture, please share it with us.
