The trail starts off the junction with Truman Trail #207. This trail provides the shortest access to Loowit Falls Viewpoint. Turning left (west) from the junction the trail gradually climbs up the open slope of the Mount St. Helens. In about 1 mile it reaches Loowit Trail #216. The trail provides great views of the north slopes of the Mount St. Helens, Spirit Lake, Mount Margaret and other peaks.

Two nice loops can be done using this trail: Abraham Trail #216D - Loowit Trail #216 - Windy Trail; Windy Trail - Loowit Trail #216 - Willow Springs Trail#207A - Truman Trail #207.
